IBPS photo resize: photo, signature, thumb and declaration
Resize your IBPS files
Nothing is uploadedWhat the source says: Photograph Image: (4.5cm × 3.5cm). Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred). Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb.
What it leaves open: Both sizes describe a portrait photo: 200 px wide and 230 px tall. IBPS calls the pixel size preferred and the file size the requirement. The form also takes a live photo through a webcam or phone, in addition to this file.
CRP PO/MT-XVI notification (opens in a new tab) Annexure III, printed page 36 (PDF page 39), read 25 Oct 2026
Every IBPS notice of 2026-27, for PO, Clerk, SO and RRB, asks for the same four files: a photograph of 200 × 230 pixels and 20 to 50 KB, a signature of 140 × 60 pixels and 10 to 20 KB, a left thumb impression of 240 × 240 pixels and 20 to 50 KB, and a handwritten declaration of 800 × 400 pixels and 50 to 100 KB, all JPG. Choose the file above, add your scan, and download it at that size.
IBPS photo, signature, thumb and declaration sizes
What the 2026-27 IBPS notices say, read in the PDFs on ibps.in. The four sizes are the same in all of them.

IBPS calls each pixel size preferred and states each file-size range as the requirement. The form will not move to the next step until the photo and signature meet the specification.
How to prepare the four IBPS files.
Use white paper. Sign with a black ink pen, not in capital letters. Press your left thumb in black or blue ink. Write the declaration in English, in your own hand, in black ink.
Scan at 200 dpi or more in true colour, as the notices ask, and crop each scan to the edge of the photo, signature, thumb impression or writing. A phone photo works too if you crop it the same way.
Choose the file in the resizer. The photograph preset fills 200 × 230 pixels and trims the edges, so centre your face first. The signature, thumb and declaration presets fit the whole image and add white space, so no stroke is cut.
Make the JPG and check the result. It shows the pixel size and the exact bytes. The presets keep each file inside its range, adding padding bytes when a clean scan comes out below the minimum.
Take the live photo in the form. Face the webcam or phone against a light, preferably white background, in good light, without coloured glasses, sunglasses or a cap.
What the IBPS guide requires for the declaration
The handwritten declaration is the fourth image every IBPS form asks for, after the photo, signature and left thumb impression: 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm), 50 to 100 KB, JPG or JPEG.
The text to write
The PO/MT-XVI, SPL-XVI and CSA-XVI notices print this text for you to copy in your own handwriting:
“I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
The IBPS RRB XV guides for Officers and Office Assistants print the same declaration with “submit” in place of “present”:
“I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will submit the supporting documents as and when required.”
| Format | JPG or JPEG |
|---|---|
| Dimensions | 800 × 400 pixels in 200 DPI, preferred, which is 10 cm × 5 cm |
| File size | 50 KB to 100 KB |
| Paper and ink | White paper, black ink |
| Language | English only |
| Letter case | Not in capital letters |
If anyone else writes it, the application is invalid
The notices say the declaration has to be in your own handwriting: if it is written by anybody else, or in any other language, the application will be considered invalid.
If you cannot write
If you cannot write, the notices let you get the declaration typed and upload it at the same 800 × 400 pixels and 50 to 100 KB; if you cannot sign either, put your left thumb impression below the typed text. Read the clause in the PO/MT-XVI notice, printed page 38 (opens in a new tab).
IBPS RRB means Regional Rural Banks: this is the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection’s recruitment for rural banks, not the Railway Recruitment Board.
Why IBPS rejects a photo, signature or declaration
Taken from the notices' own wording.
Capital letters. “Signature / Hand written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted.”
Someone else's handwriting, or another language. The declaration then makes the application invalid.
An unclear or smudged file. If the photo, signature, thumb impression, declaration or certificate is unclear or smudged, the application form is rejected.
Caps, hats and dark glasses. Not acceptable in the photograph; religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover the face.
A poor live photo. Too small, a shadow on the face, not facing the camera, a distorted, masked or blurred face, or a dark or improper background.
Questions
What is the IBPS photo size?
200 × 230 pixels and 20 to 50 KB, in JPG or JPEG. The 2026-27 PO, Clerk, SO and RRB notices all print the same rule, call the pixel size preferred, and describe the photograph as 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm. The form also takes a live photo through a webcam or phone, in addition to this file.
What is the IBPS signature size?
140 × 60 pixels and 10 to 20 KB, signed on white paper with a black ink pen. A signature in capital letters is not accepted.
What size are the left thumb impression and the handwritten declaration?
The left thumb impression is 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI (3 × 3 cm), 20 to 50 KB, in black or blue ink on white paper. The handwritten declaration is 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 × 5 cm), 50 to 100 KB.
What do I write in the IBPS handwritten declaration?
The PO, Clerk and SO notices print: "I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required." The RRB XV guides for Officers and Office Assistants print the same text with "submit" in place of "present". Write it in English, in your own handwriting, not in capital letters.
Can someone else write the declaration, or can I type it?
No one else may write it: if it is written by anybody else or in another language, the application is considered invalid. Only candidates who cannot write may get the text typed and put their left thumb impression below it, if they cannot sign either, then upload that document to the same specification.
Are the sizes the same for IBPS PO, Clerk, SO and RRB?
Yes, in the 2026-27 notices read for this page: CRP PO/MT-XVI, SPL-XVI, CSA-XVI and RRBs-XV give the same four pixel sizes and file-size ranges. Each cycle publishes its own guidelines, so check the next one when it comes out.
Is my photo uploaded to FormAssets?
No. Each file is resized inside your browser and downloads to your device. There is no account and no copy on a server.
Before you upload: what the resizer cannot check
FormAssets makes each file at the pixels and file size you choose and shows the result. Open each JPG before you upload it: the resizer cannot write or check your declaration, tell whether a scan is sharp enough, or take the live photo, which the IBPS form does itself.
Each cycle publishes its own guidelines. Before you apply, open your notice on ibps.in (opens in a new tab); each row above shows the date we read it.
