Compress PDF to 50 KB
Choose a PDF and compress it to under 50,000 bytes. This is a tight limit: one scanned page fits at about 70 DPI, two pages only at the lowest settings, and three pages did not fit in our tests. If yours cannot fit, the tool says so and names the smallest size it can make. Check your notice first: in the NEET, JEE and UPSC PDF rules, 50 KB is the minimum, not the maximum.
Make a PDF under 50 KB
Nothing is uploadedStays under 50,000 bytes, below the limit whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes. Up to 20 pages.
Leave it empty to keep every page. To send only some, write them like 1-2 or 1, 3. The size limit then applies to the pages you keep.
What 50 KB means for a PDF.
One page, and not always a sharp one. One phone-scanned page fitted at 69 DPI, a flatbed scan at 73 and a photographed page at 74, each at JPG quality 71 or so. Two pages fitted only at the 60 DPI floor and quality 39. Three did not fit: the smallest the tool could make was 68 KB.
What 60 to 74 DPI looks like. At 70 DPI a line of 10-point type is about 10 pixels tall. Headings and large stamps stay clear; small print gets soft. A page that a portal opens at full size may be hard to read, so open the result at 100 percent and check the smallest text before you upload it.
A typed PDF over 50 KB is a different problem. A twelve-page typed PDF was 65 KB, over the limit, yet the tool could not get below 315 KB: turning twelve pages of text into images makes them larger. For a typed document over 50 KB, cut pages in the program that made it.
Official notices that use 50 KB for a PDF
Same three files as on the 300 KB page, fetched on 29 Sep 2026 and identical to the copies read on 25 Sep 2026. Here the number to look at is the lower one: 50 KB is where each range starts.

We did not find an official notice among those we read that sets 50 KB as the largest allowed PDF. If your form does, that number comes from its own upload screen or notice, and this tool can meet it for a single scanned page. For the three above, a file under 50 KB is too small, so use the 300 KB page or the 200 KB page instead.
What fits in 50 KB
Six files at a 50 KB limit. Only single scanned pages fit comfortably. Every file is computer-generated (invented content) except UPSC's own instructions PDF.

KB here is 1,000 bytes; a refusal quotes the tool's message, which counts 1,024. Chrome, 29 Sept 2026.
If your PDF will not go below 50 KB.
Send one page. Type the page in Pages to keep, for example 2. A single scanned page fitted at 69 DPI or better in every test we ran. If the form needs several pages in one file, 50 KB is too little for a scan of them.
Take the smallest size the tool reports, if the portal allows it. The three-page scan needed 68 KB, and the tool offers to retry at the next 10 KB up. Use that only where the limit is not fixed, since a file over the portal's limit is rejected.
If the form takes a picture, send a picture. Where the upload accepts JPG as well as PDF, a photographed page saved as a JPG under 50 KB is often sharper than the same page as a 50 KB PDF. The 50 KB image page does that. It does not help where the form insists on PDF.
Ask what the limit is for. Some forms give 50 KB for a photograph and a separate PDF limit for documents on another screen. Read each upload screen on its own before you compress anything.
Where 50 KB appears in the notices.
Usually as the bottom of the range. The NEET (UG) 2026, JEE (Main) 2026 and UPSC rules for PDF certificates all run from 50 KB up to 300 KB. A file kept under 50,000 bytes is below the range. If your form is one of those, use the 200 KB page, which also covers the 300 KB rules, and check the size of the file you download.
Many 50 KB limits are for pictures. The IBPS-style and SBI notices FormAssets tracks use 50 KB as the largest file for a photograph and thumb impression, which is a JPG, not a PDF. For those, the 50 KB image page is the right tool.

Questions
How do I compress a PDF to 50 KB?
Choose the PDF, set the limit to 50 KB and select Compress. Resolution and JPG quality come down until the file is under 50,000 bytes. That works for a single scanned page; for more pages the tool may say the limit cannot be met and name the smallest size it can make.
Can a multi-page PDF be 50 KB?
Not a scanned one, in our tests. Two pages fitted only at the lowest settings (60 DPI, JPG quality 39), and three needed 68 KB. Keep fewer pages, or ask whether the portal allows a larger file.
Why is my PDF still over 50 KB after compressing?
The tool does not hand back a file over the limit: it says it cannot fit and names the smallest size it can make. If you see a bigger number, check that the box says 50 and that the portal counts KB the same way; the tool keeps files below 50,000 bytes.
Is 50 KB the minimum or the maximum for NEET, JEE and UPSC?
The minimum. Their PDF rules run from 50 KB to 300 KB, so a file under 50 KB is too small. The sources are linked in the table above. Use a larger limit and check that the downloaded file is above 50 KB.
Will 50 KB be readable?
For one page, usually for headings and large print, less so for small type: at 70 DPI a line of 10-point type is about 10 pixels tall. The result shows the DPI it used; zoom to the smallest text before uploading.
What if my form wants a photo under 50 KB and a PDF under 50 KB?
Prepare them separately. The photo is a JPG, for the 50 KB image page; the PDF is this page. Each upload screen applies its own limit, and one file cannot serve both.
Is my document sent anywhere?
No. It is read and rewritten inside your browser, and nothing is uploaded.
Before you rely on 50 KB.
Read the number on the upload screen: 50 KB may be a photograph's limit, a PDF's limit or the bottom of a range. The tool keeps the file under 50,000 bytes and cannot judge whether a page this small is still readable to whoever checks it.
